We learned this house just up the street is our Sister house — built in the early 1800s by the same builder.
Isn’t it beautiful?
I missed it at first, because directly across the street is this place — which I call Rivendell — since there’s this dramatic rocky waterfall off to the right side, which runs when there are heavy rains.
But back to our Sister house.
I kind of think of it as a “Raised” Capelonial. See the similarities? The traditional Federal Colonial face on the front, away from the street, the second main entrance on the street side … even a smaller Cape Cod off to the right.
Their porch is so gorgeous, and I’m wondering if it’s original or added at a later date.
Every time we drive by this house, I look at it for ideas for ours. And when we learned that it was a Sister house to our own (at closing), someone said that I loved that house so much and was using it for inspiration … (in front of our Sellers… I hope they weren’t offended).
